*Form and Theory of Poetry portfolio: Done and turned in
*Form and Theory of the Short Story essay: Done and turned in
*Writing for Performance chapbook: WIP, the deadline was extended to Thurs. Wed. but I want to turn it in before that
Now all I have to do is finish my chapbook and I'm done for this semester, yay!
Also, if you've commented or emailed me in the last few days and I haven't gotten back to you yet, I'm sorry about the delay! I will totally get back to you, I'm just failing a bit at communication right now.
In other news, on Friday it was my grandmother's birthday and I went to the small family gathering at my grandparents' house, which was actually a decoy party that my mom and aunts and uncles had set up so my grandma wouldn't suspect the huge surprise party that was planned for her on Saturday.
On Saturday I went back to my grandparents' house for the real party, which included a lot of non-immediate relatives I hadn't seen for a long time (and I have a really large family, so I didn't even recognize some of them) and catering (there were tons of leftovers, the last day and a half I've been really lazy and just mixing up and heating some of the rice, beans, and sausage together in a kind of tasty fakeout jambalaya) and also a Mariachi band (which I'm sure I must have annoyed a bit when I darted in to get a few pictures of my grandparents).
On Sunday I mostly slept, which didn't help my whacked-out sleeping schedule any (seriously, it's messed up even by my standards--for the last few days I'll sleep, like, five hours and then wake up in the middle of the night and stay up and then when I get really tired I'll sleep another five hours. WTF SELF).
Also on Saturday and today I got to see a lot of my new little cousin, who is a month old and extremely tiny. She's sleeping on my bed right now, actually, and every so often will squirm around raise her arms out straight in front of her. I think that she thinks she's playing a zombie extra in MJ's "Thriller," LOL. ^___~
Anyway, she's waking up now, so, see you! <333
ETA: My mom immediately swooped in and whisked the baby off for her bottle, so here I am again! On that note, I fed the baby her bottle earlier today for the first time ever and--well, you should know that I have extremely limited experience with babies and totally forgot that they tend to spit up, so that was an interesting experience for me. None of the spit-up got on me, fortunately, but there was a moment there when I was, like, "O_O WHUT R YOU DOING??"
