I VOTED!
So usually I do early-voting on my University campus but this year I missed that, so that meant I had to get up bright and early this morning to vote. So basically so far my day has gone thusly:
5:30AM - Go to bed
7:22AM - Wake up
7:35AM - Go to polling place, which was right near campus and only serving one precinct so it was practically empty; find out that this is not the polling place for my precinct
7:50AM - Breakfast sandwich at Sonic
8:00AM - Arrive at new polling place, long line (not ridiculously large yet, but that's because it was so ungodly early). I got to skip ahead in line because I was in the M-Z section
8:10-8:29AM - Wait in another line to get to the voting machines (there were only, like, seven). The polling place was an elementary school, so there was a bench built into the wall (I thought that was cool, that should totally be a regular feature in buildings); the wall was painted with cartoon children medieval figures in a bright green meadow, hmmm
8:30AM - VOTE, YAY!
My mom was the one to drive me to the polling places (she did early voting) so when I got out she was, like, I AM LATE TO TRAINING, and I was, like, ON THE PLUS SIDE, YOU HELPED ME CHANGE HISTORY.
And then I got all giddy for, like, forty minutes but now my energy is crashinnnnnnnng.
BTW, if you still need to vote,
here is a good checklist (link stolen from
icarusancalion's post
here, thank you BB! <333).
I'm hoping by tonight there will be a President Obama!
BTW, if you're an American and you voted, today you can
get a free coffee from Starbucks and
a free donut from Krispy Kreme. Just thought I'd let you know!
