Summary: Parker and Bela get reacquainted.
Parker wouldn't let Bela out of her sight.
It had been a week since Bela had come to her and Parker wasn't letting Bela go anywhere else. Bela was okay with that for the time being, because she had no where else to go. She had been back for a month before she went to find Parker. Long enough to start to adjust, to try to figure out why she was back, and to come to terms with it all.
The fact of the matter was that Bela still didn't know why she was back. She had reconnected with Bobby Singer, who put her in touch with an angel. An actual angel. Castiel looked for answers for two weeks, but he didn't come up with anything for her. Apparently Sam Winchester came back not long before her and she had to wonder if that had anything to do with it.
Either way she didn't have answers, and neither Bobby nor Castiel could find any immediate threat to her, so after another couple of weeks she left. She went to find Parker, the only person she cared about getting back to. So she really didn't mind that Parker was clinging, because she needed to cling too.
It amazed her how much Parker had changed in the time she was gone. Parker who now joked around with her friends, held fuller conversations with them and with Bela. Parker who could, almost with ease, take a kiss from Bela whenever she wanted it. In the past it had always been hard for Parker to show affection, even when she craved it, and Bela had just gotten used to knowing the signs.
Now Parker would grab onto Bela's hand while they sat at the bar or in Nate's apartment, whether they were alone or with the others. Parker would throw her arms around Bela's waist and pull her down onto her bed. Bela wasn't overly fond of where Parker was staying, practically an empty storage unit with a large bed in the center, but it was Parker's. She didn't want to be anywhere else.
And when Parker would pull her down onto the bed, Bela would roll into the girl and wrap her arms around her, holding on tight. Parker would press her face into Bela's neck and hair to breath her in, and Bela would just rub her back gently. Bela had never before known the simplicity of just wanting to be close. The way Parker always sat as close to her as she could, or the way she would lay against Bela and just be there. Bela had missed it so much more than she had realized.
The first time they made love again was slow and careful. Bela initiated it, like she had always been used to doing, but there was less leading Parker than there had been in the past. The only encouragement Parker needed was that she wasn't going to break Bela, and then Parker took the lead and tenderly did all the things to Bela that she had learned long before in their relationship. Bela needed to be taken care of, and Parker sensed it. Coming out of Hell had sent all of Bela's senses into overdrive, and that included needing to get laid. It was a surprise how slow their first time back together went, considering how badly Bela had needed it for the past month, but that almost made it better. There were a few moments of guiding Parker where she wanted her, but otherwise it was just what she needed. Parker had never before made Bela react the way she had that night.
They spent as much time as they could in Parker's bed, curled up together talking or not talking. Watching the ceiling and just holding onto each other. Parker took Bela to all the meetings with the team and made her stay in Nate's apartment while they were working. She offered that Bela could help them, but Bela still wasn't feeling at her best, so she let them go. And she stayed right where Parker left her until Parker came back for her, because Parker made her promise to be there when she got back.
Bela was getting to know the team better, and she got along with them all. She spent a lot of time watching how Parker interacted with them, and how they treated Parker, and those were the things that made her like them. Especially Sophie. Sophie seemed to have taken care of Parker when Bela hadn't been able to, and for that Bela was thankful. A little jealous maybe, but thankful. Parker hadn't been alone. She'd had Sophie and the others, and she had turned out just fine.
“But I needed you,” Parker murmured in the darkness, when Bela told her as much.
“You wanted me,” Bela corrected. “You didn't need me, darling. You don't need me anymore.”
“Yes I do.” Parker leaned over her to look down at her, her eyes narrowed not in anger but in fear. “I say I do.”
Bela reached up and stroked Parker's cheek lightly. “Alright,” she nodded.
Parker frowned and lay down again, curling up against Bela. “We're...like a team.”
“We are?”
“Yes. Parker and Bela.”
“I thought you had a team already.”
“Well...that's my other team. My Parker Team.”
“And what am I?” Bela turned to glance at her.
“....my Real Parker Team.”
“Where you can just be you?” Bela asked. Parker nodded and Bela smiled. “I like this team, then.”
Parker beamed and nuzzled closer, closing her eyes. “Me too.”
