page 4, specifically.

Yeah, I've been in those shoes.  That rush is the main reason I actually DON'T write.  It's scary.  It's all consuming.  And if I stretched myself and started writing everyday and actually went for the whole "be an author" thing, I would be like that.  TOO MUCH of the time.  I'd be clinically insane, and I wouldn't be able to hold down a job.

I'm holding onto my normal life with my teeth and fingernails and both legs wrapped around the trunk, clinging to the edge of the cliff, with the Chasm of Possibility screaming my name beneath my dangling feet and I. Don't. Want. To. Go. There.

So thanks, all you folks in my close life who wonder on a day to day basis "WHY doesn't she Live Up To Her Potential".  It's because I prefer to be sane.   I've been fighting the 'gotta write' urge for 20+ freaking years, and while I'm gradually losing, I will continue to fight.  As long as I possibly can.  Someday that Monster is going to bust out of her cage, and I'll have to deal with it.  Until then, I'm going to Have A Normal Life.  REALLY.
