In which I instruct you how much to pity me.
Okays, just went to the dentist again. Not fun.
The dentist himself and his assistant were as nice as ever but my nerves weren't staying put. It didn't have much to do with what I felt from what the guy was doing but more with not being able to get away when I wanted to. Plus the lying back a bit too far (tilting back) and not being able to close your mouth.
I didn't really know how long I could last with it but in the end I was feeling much better so I managed to stay put until everything that was planned was done. He filled three cavities, a bit smaller ones than last time I think. And then he removed that very degraded wisdomtooth, that one had been giving me gumpain this last week so it was really needed.
Frankly the pulling of the tooth took about one minute and (while there) was easier than the fillings. Afterwards he told me about it and mentioned I probably wouldn't want to see it but hey I'm me right? So OFCOURSE I wanted to see it....wasn't freaky at all. The top was actually like the rest of my teeth, white and okay looking but the side was kinda iffy. It has three sturdy roots sort of really close together.
Now I can't talk because I am pressing the cloth against the wound, he didn't stitch it so any remaining infection can get out and it wasn't really needed. Not being able to talk sucks...I'm a chatty person and wanted to explain all my reactions and things to the dentist so he didn't think it was because I was afraid of him or that he hurt me but oh well.
The numbing shots did hurt a tiny bit when they went into the roof of my mouth, but that was more shock than pain. BTW that stuff tastes horrible, really chemical. I've had sardine fishbones stuck in my gums that hurt more than those shots. Another thing that I don't like is when instruments and fingers are mashing my cheekflesh up. That does hurt kinda. last time I think that also left me a bit swollen and bruised feeling.
Now I just hope the bloodclot forms well in the gap the wisdomtooth left. He said I could take some paracetamol when needed and that I shouldn't rinse it too much. So not the antibiotics and ibuprofen I have read about OL. Ya know, they do seem to go overboard perhaps with it in other places. My dentist didn't even really encourage paracetamol use. I'll see how much I can stand.
I'll be so happy if now soon I can chew on that side easily without that annoying feeling of biting on my cheek nagging pain that apparently comes from infection.
So, now I'll go back to drooling and being a bit sore. But did you know this all was just on the upper right of my mouth? Next time he'll start the lower right I think. But that can't possibly be that bad, he did the worst stuff first. I think he was pretty happy with being able to take out that wonky wisdomtooth now, the rest could wait.
