100 Things #011 -

I don't think I've mentioned before that I'm a member of the (Dutch) National Spinning Group. The group held its annual member meeting yesterday, with a small marketplace & some demonstrations to ensure people showed up.
And it was actually really fun! I met tons of new people, learned some new things about spinning, and even made plans to set up a spinning group for my city/region. Awesomesauce!!!

I didn't take any pictures on the day itself, because I just wanted to have fun instead of hide behind a camera. I do wish I had a picture of the dozens of small & tiny spinning wheels people had brought with them - some of them were so cute! (WANT!!)

Even though I am still beyond broke, I had decided to let myself buy ONE thing there. I decided on a gorgeous roving from Dutch Wool Diva. I already "knew" her from Ravelry and had browsed her website several times, swooning over all of the lovely roving and yarns she dyes. So I already had my eyes set on something of hers beforehand. I ended up buying this lovely Polwarth roving:

I just adore the fresh colours, very fitting for spring IMO.
I think I'll make it into a scarf or crescent-shaped shawlette. Can't wait to spin & knit this up! ♥

I'll keep you posted on how this turns out! :D

P.S. Resisting urge to put this under a mature content tag for the roving porn... :P
