So, Rocky Horror story.
So The Rocky Horror Show was playing in Wimbledon, which is technically in London, but on the outskirts. It is in Zone 3 of the Tube, and pretty much anything you ever want to do is in Zones 1 & 2. Also, it's the last stop on one of the Tube lines. So it was a bit of a trip out there, but not bad. Anyway, I was running a little late, and antsy on the Tube because I didn't know if I would make it in time, so I walk out of the Underground at Wimbleton (which is actually above ground) and don't know whether to turn right or left. Ironically, it is a KFC ad that saves me, because I was thinking right, but it pointed my left; although I never found the "KFC NEXT TO THEATRE", I did find the theatre. There were a lot of people dressed up, and I had bought a half price best available seat online. I was in seat B3, which is the first row. AWESOME! So blahblahblah the show starts and these two characters come out on stage, one a girl (who later played Magenta) and one a guy, both dressed up in pink skirts/uniforms. They turned the song "Science Fiction Double Feature," which is normally a solo, into a duet, and it was great. They were pretty funny, and their voices were incredible. Anyway, play goes on, all the characters are AMAZING singers, and the acting and energy are so incredible. Some of the audience shouted the audience parts at certain points, and it was hilarious to see the cast react to it; some of them would break character and say something back (which was always funny) but Frank was so great at feeding off the energy, and playing back with the audience. He was probably the best act I've seen in a musical yet; he was SO into his character. It was amazing. At the end, the two 'women' who opened the show came out to sing the final song, and as they walked off the stage, the guy took his wig off and bowed. And everyone was cheering because we just thought he was hamming it up. During the cast bow, they brought him out and introduced him. Who was it you ask? It was Richard O'Brien. Richrd O'Briend WROTE The Rocky Horror Show back in 197whatever. He was (for those of you who have seen the movie) Riff Raff originally, and he was just there last night I don't know why, but I saw Richard O'Brien perform, in drag, live, in The Rocky Horror Show, in London. I cannot believe my life. I think RH was probably my favorite play out of all the ones I've seen; other people probably wouldn't think that, but they are not the hardcore RH fan that I am. Les Mis was incredible, but this was beyond even that. RH is so amazing. AHHHHHH LIFE!
