so i just finished mahoraba. its not that i didnt like it, but i didnt like what they did to you in the end.
first, let me say that i really do like the series as a whole. it shines both in its direction and its concept and i would recommend watching it. now that thats out of the way,
i really dont think that creating a point of tension to resolve so late in the series was a good idea. i dont know if there was a manga or anything that this was modeled after, but.... it was really disappointing that virtually nothing real was resolved at the end of the series. for example they create/delve a side story line with the mother/daughter pair and with the best friend girl and they resolve those (in that order) followed by a problem which is conveniently created two/three episodes from the end of the series to resolve the WHOLE series.
its not that its *wrong* or even *bad* its just that it really doesnt resolve what i felt to be the larger issue which is the female main characters multiple personality disorder... i expected the hero/protagonist to somehow resolve that (in my opinion much larger) issue rather than just to help the main personality "snap out" of her comatose/catatonic state so people could get back to life as usual.
, if you havent seen it, or dismissed it after a single episode, you should try again and see how far you get with a more open perspective. i enjoyed most of the elements a lot (though nothing in particular was exceptional but the direction at parts) even if i didnt like any of them more than a little more than a lot. its fun to watch and its rather touching at parts as well. yah it made me cry a few times... though right now i cant tell if the tears are from yawning so much (due to the hour) or a combination of that and raw emotion :D (raw!)
all right, tahts about it on that. not that anybody reads these anyway :)
