saw my first (live) opera today. i suppose technically it was date-style, but not with someone i currently am pursuing.
overall, if i DID take a date to an opera, if its anything like this one, i think it would be a fairly successful night. damn, that was great.
the loveban 's west coast debut, apparently.
the singers were pretty good, the costumes were fun/ny, the writing was hilarious, and i feel like the 2nd half played out more like a musical than a standard opera.
overall, led to a satisfying day.
damn wagner for reminding me of better days and less restrained people. :)
on the darker side, the anime club "officers club" (yeah, thats essentially their attitude) decided not to make public the results of the officer elections and also decided on a whim to move up the last episodes of the remaining 2 series into the time slot normally occupied by something else and show *something new* in the *standard time slot* for the end of the things theyve been showing the whole semester. great guys. thanks for changing the schedule without any warning.
also, theres this
dessert boutique thing up in ktown that looks like it specializes in desserts and coffee. dont be fooled: it specializes in ambiance. overall, a mediocre experience, though i suppose it would have been much better if they HAD ANYTHING on the menu.. including about 4 desserts and 3 coffee drinks... the hot chocolate also tasted powdered. :((
still, despite the nutty, the
korean fried chicken, the opera, the company... and some coupling to top it off... yeah, i can go to bed knowing that all that time ive neglected studying for my taekwondo belt test was *well spent* with some
lovely people.
"youre looking kind of....."
"no dude, shes not especially dressed up. she always looks nice"
hah :D
