Highlander the Source

So, thanks to
ithidrialI was finally able to watch the Source, and here are my thoughts

I can only presume that Russia was a test audience and the film tanked. Hence the lack of big screen release and the endless ‘editing’ that’s delayed the release everywhere else.

What was with the Quickening? All the effects in fact. They were better in the first film! The editing reminded me of a bad video game. Just watching it gave me a migraine. Yeesh.

Er, I thought Methos was the oldest Immortal? I mean fair enough, there might be older ones lurking somewhere, but nobody even bothers to comment on it at any point. And how come Methos, Mr. ‘I predate Christianity’ is on a holy quest and Duncan and Joe don’t even question it? WTF?

Joe’s death? I can’t even begin to comment on how awful that was. I’ll just say *gah* and leave it that.

The montage was pretty dire too. It felt like someone had cut n pasted half of the movie because they were desperate to keep the running time under 90mins.
It’s like someone had a ‘Highlander movie by numbers’ book:
1. A Highlander - check
2. incomprehensible plot - check
3. loss of someone important to Highlander - check
4. lots of sword fights - check
5. ridiculous and insane bad guy with a silly voice - check
6. Queen - ooh bugger, quick chuck in some Queen somewhere!

They were all so OOC. Duncan was the cynic? Methos actually wanted to seek out a mystical ‘Source’? At points I could actually hear Methos in my head laughing and sniping at Methos on the screen. Especially when he went all noble at the end. Are we supposed to think he’s dead? Someone needs to MST3K this film. That’s if they can bear to sit through it again.

“He’s the one.”? I repeat a resounding *gah*

Does anyone have any Retcon so I can wipe it from my mind? I mean seriously, I’m not Immortal, I demand that hour and a half of my life back. Any ideas who I should write to?

*Toddles off to watch some of the Series to push the horror away*
