So it's time for another concert review. This time Mr. Adam Lambert.
I know I skipped a full blown Gaga one but school was kicking my ass so I didn't bother.
So this Saturday I flew in to California. The flight was good, I bought a book, Snuff by Chuck Paleniuk(This is spelled wrong, but I'm too lazy to look it up). First half of the flight I sat next to a cute Asian boy, but he didn't talk at all. The second half I was next to a really talkative lady. That flight got hit by lightning. There was no obvious problem with the plane, but that lady freaked out and was holding my hand.
So finally get off the plane and immediately hope into a car and drive to Indio CA, about 1.5 hours from Ontario Airport. I was flipping out we wouldn't make it by eight since there was supposedly no opener and he was start on time. I figured the on time thing wasn't likely since boy is NEVER on time for anything.
So we get there and there was actually an opener. She was pretty good. My cousin was shocked that she was not nearly the oldest person there. She's forty and didn't understand that most Glamberts are actually older then her. And she was sitting next to a group of gay guys and I think she was uncomfortable with that, but I didn't want to sit next to them because they were being loud and singing along drowning out Adam during the ballads. NO THANK YOU
So now to the concert. Before Adam came out they were playing random songs of his. Time for Miracles, Aftermath, Master Plan, basically all the songs he probably wouldn't perform live. So then a song came on that I didn't recognize. I was wondering if it was from that unofficial CD that got released post idol since I never bothered downloading it. Then another song played that I didn't recognize and realized it was Voodoo. I flipped out. It sounded so good, but I haven't had a chance to relisten to it or the other unreleased song yet. I can't wait till we have the professional ones.
So then Adam came out. I won't bother with a track listing because you've either seen in at _ai or will have no clue what I'm talking about. He looked amazing. I think he had some extensions in, way more blue in his hair. Also he had some amazing leggings on. I wish I would have been closer to get a nice look at his jewelry(which was crazy) and ass /perve.
I was sad though because we were in the bleacher seats in the back and no one got up to dance. They only danced during FYE(first song), Sure Fire Winners and Down the Rabbit Hole because Adam demanded we dance.
His voice seemed higher on FYE and a couple other songs. It sounded better that way I think. He did most of the intense dance songs at the beginning. They were the best vocals I've heard on those and the whole live experience is so much better. His voice just pierces your soul and it's just so brilliant actually hearing it with the acoustics and the for real instruments.
Then he stopped for an acoustic break. Well first he did Soaked. The vocals were so brilliant. I can't even describe it. Then acoustic WWFM. So pretty, I prefer that so much acoustic. Broken Open was beautiful as always. Then he busted out Mad World for the first time in forever and it was great. Then when he said here's something a little different I thought he was gonna do a new cover and the first few cords they played sounded like Bon Jovi's "Dead or Alive" which was like WAT? But then he started singing and I was like ?!?!?!?! it's Whole Lotta Love OMFG. His voice is so amazing. All the crazy runs and changing up the lyrics. He apparently wants to give us his whole lotta love. I was cracking up and UNFing and spazzing all over it.
Then afterwards he's like I have to brag about my band a little bit there and told us about how they didn't practice that at all...but that he practiced like crazy in his car on the way there.
He played Sleepwalker, then left the stage. The band didn't leave though so we were waiting a bit. He came back out in the most ridic feathers ever and a hat. He did Fever(UNF) and during DTRH a girl jumped up on stage and at first I thought it was the girl who opened and then Adam's face was like WAT so I realized girl was not supposed to be there. He danced with her though and went with it and security meandered over to escort her off stage.
That was it. I didn't even mind not being able to see half the time because his voice is just so amazing live. I mean I expected it to be better, but not THAT much better.
Other stuff from this week. I've been hanging with my cousins. All of them are sick and I'm starting to get a sore throat.
Went shopping today. I got new flip flops, two new shirts and a new cute bra.
Oh and the baby who bonded with me last trip now hates me. :/ Oh well.
