Why True Blood kicks Twilight's ass and penguin gay rights scandal
So, they just started showing True Blood on UK TV on FX, the same channel that shows Dexter. And WHY DID NO ONE TELL ME HOW GOOD IT IS? Seriously? Even the lead lady isn't at all annoying and Mary-Sue like, but is actually quite sweet. In the first episode alone there was murder, gratuitous nudity, X++swearing and a girl called Tara. Basically I've ordered the DVD from the States. Doesn't come out in the UK till October but I just can't wait till then, or for weekly episodes, to watch this. It's genius! GENIUS! And is everything I love about Vampires and everything I hate about New Moon (from the trailer I saw) Twilight style wet emo crap. Only trouble is that I don't at all fancy the leading man Vampire in True Blood. But you can't have everything I suppose. I quite fancy Suki's brother though. Hehe.
And speaking of films that are rubbish, am I the only person in the world who thinks that Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince aka HP6 is TERRIBLE? I mean, I thought books 5-7 were rubbish but they managed a good job on film 5. But 6 showed up all the WORST of JK's terrible excess. WAY too long, self indulgent, scenary chewing, weird, CRAP. Terrible terrible film.
In the meantime, the gay penguins of SF zoo have split up. Sadly, Harry the Penguin left his partner Pepper the Penguin to move in with a GIRL penguin! Boy Harry must be confused. And now Pepper's all lonely. :-( My fave quote was this one from a blogger who said he was "heartbroken" about the split and that he hopes Pepper "finds another male penguin that is ten times hotter than Harry!"
