OMG I saw the London production a couple of weeks ago and loved it so hard!! I have since listened to the soundtrack an embarrassing number of times, and my favourite track pretty much changes every day, it's 'I don't do sadness' atm

Definitely go back and see Aneurin as Melchior, he was seriously awesome, and you know, the hotness didnt' hurt.

Also love the fact that they do such discounted tickets for 19 and under, am so glad i just scrape into that category so I can afford to see it a bunch more times over the summer.

I really do need to see it again, but it costs me a fortune being an oldie. But I REALLY want to see the proper Melchi. I NEED to. I have no idea why he wasn't there last night - Saturday night should be the proper cast!!!

Ah, it's so nice to see SA getting some love outside of all the Broadway communities, too. :)

And the show really is awesome. I never thought I'd love it so much (due to reading the original play in 8th grade, mostly), but the score is just amazing.

Re: the American accent - I don't think it takes away anything from the show. I mean, it's not as if Brits can pronounce Hänschen correctly either. :p But honestly, what with the jumping between 19th century Germany and then the songs having 21st century lyrics like "I go up my room / turn the stereo on" (which: yes, brilliant idea) - theatre is all about imagination and suspension of disbelief anyway... so the accent doesn't really matter. (And omg, woman, get thee on the interwebs and watch SA with Jon Groff or Matt Doyle if you can!)

God, I can't wait to see this show again. Two more weeks...

Message me tomorrow and I'll hit you up with the good stuff (you still have an MU account, right?) - gotta go work on a presentation and study for a test now...

But yeah, hopefully I'll be able to see it in two weeks. Don't get to go to London that often, so I have to take advantage of being there. Just sucks that they don't have regular discounts yet (are they at TKTS, though?), but whatever. Seeing SA and Rent all in one weekend is totally worth spending copious amounts of money that I don't have.
Now, if only tick..., tick..., BOOM! were on just a week earlier. Well, can't have everything.

Ooo, yes please for the good stuff.

And I got your message on Tick Tick Boom but I still haven't bought tickets. My stupid hubby is messing me around. I hope there are tickets left.

I've never seen it live, but I have the soundtrack and I watched a (crappy) bootleg back when the show first came out. I'd LOVE to see it live (and I heard that the London cast is amazing). Martha's my favorite. *hugs Martha*

The Martha bit really upset me. It's where her Father's standing on stage with a horrible happy grin on his face, and her Mum's standing on the other side doing nothing.

Horribly powerful.

Weeeee! Glad you liked it! I really, really hope they do a soundtrack from the British performance, the accents and voices sounded sooo different from the Broadway soundtrack (I have most of the songs, willl burn you a CD next time we meet if you like?)

If you go again look at lastminute.com - i got tickets for half price and we had excellent seats!

Tick, Tick ... Boom is on for five days on Covent Garden! Tempted? PM coming shortly!

Oh and Aneurin was great. And, you know, gorgeous (I got the poster - purely as a reminder of a great night of course)

Sounds awesome! I have a friend who just saw it in London last week and loved it too.

I can email you the full Bway cast recording if you want it.

Ooo, is it MP3 format? I've got a half-assed version in quicktime which pees me off mightily.

Oh b-t-dub, check out himym_roleplay? And don't kill me! Try not to anyway...

No, but I can easily rip my CD into mp3s for you. I'll do it later tonight if I remember to bring it in from my car, heh.

Re: roleplay, it is doubtful I'll kill you, though intense worshipping is always a possibility.
