Days to come.

Happy Halloween, everybody. It's that funny time of year where that cold wind blows but the sun manages to give spectacles if you treat it right, do it right. Cabbies are nice guys, I've found recently. Well, just more regularly. The dude last night talked a lot about karma. From the wild, topsy-turvy yet always fun state of things at the moment, I don't think that has a damned thing to do with it anymore. Call it dumb luck or call it a Cuniculosophic prophecy or whatever else you can think of -- just shut up, keep walking and make the best of it until it's all stretched out. Kick back. Pop more Jiffy Pop. Whatever.

My mum (the woman on the far left) is mostly deaf in both ears and as such is very sensitive to noisy music and overly-layered sounds. In the past couple years, I've managed to switch the direction of our musical inflictions; from her classic rock records becoming my favourites to the more recent constant onslaught of new music I insist on playing both to and from work. In doing so, if you asked her, she would most likely list her favourite bands as Califone, Radiohead and Calexico. This particular morning, I decided to let her try Godspeed You! Black Emperor on for size. I recently picked up the Slow Riot For New Zero Kanada EP which she surprisingly enjoyed quite thoroughlly, regardless of her mentioning how it made her feel that something horrible was going to happen today. And in a way, something did -- a tacky work Halloween party, but that's a whole other story. Anyyyyway, if you're bored at home on this fine evening, put on this "creepy" music by this fucking amazing band and watch the world burn. If you're smart, you can turn it up to disastrous decibals to drown out the little'uns hitting that doorbell every 3.4 seconds. Or at least it'll scare them the hell away.

Trick or treeeaaaat.
