finished costume pictures
Thanks to everybody for the nice birthday wishes. It was wonderful. Sarah and I went to the zoo for a few hours in the blistering heat, which was fantastic. I took some pictures while I was there that I'll post sometime in the next few days. Came home, had dinner with the family. It was mostly tolerable. Every time I see her, my grandmother asks me how my love life is going, and insists that I need to "find a boy who's rich and good looking, hold on to him, and settle down quick." I've taken to pretending I don't hear her and busying myself with something else. Meh. I can deal with it.
Last night I finally finished the Padmé costume I've been working on for a while (deleted scenes in AotC with Anakin and her parents). Took some pictures eariler today, posted in a cut.
I'm really happy with the way the color came out on the silk. I used the same dye for the skirt lining, but the color came out radically different. It's a much lighter blue than the outer layer. It's hard to see from the pictures that the skirt is a wrap skirt, like in the movie. I'm very happy with the way it turned out.
