LOL! That's how I was taught to boil eggs (except I don't ice them down, I just use cold water afterward)...I didn't even know there were other ways to boil eggs!
I never get green with mine, though I use a different technique: I bring them to a boil and then lower the heat to boil them for 12 minutes exactly. At the end of twelve minutes, I rinse them in cold water and then fill the pan with cold water and let them sit a few minutes. Voila! Perfect eggs!
I have to confess that I've never used the above method because they don't seem like they'll be "cooked" enough. I don't know why I'm so squeamish about it.
