Fic rec
I'm really spamming LJ (relatively) these days aren't I?
But as I'm about to head out to yet another family members, I come with a fic rec. And, I fully admit, I'm incredibly picky about reccing things to others - so keep that in mind.
The Pen and the Sword - by unknown
This was the fic written for me for yuletide. When I requested an 'after' to Rilla of Ingleside, this was not at all what I expected. But this is amazing none the less. Probably not that many people are knowledgeable of the Anne of Green Gables series - so if you're not, it loses a little something. My request for 'plot' was very much taken to heart. But the writing style is even reminiscient of LM Montgomery. And the historical detail she (I'm assuming she's a she) included is....there are no words. And how faithful it is to the series....
Anyways - I fully recommend reading it and leaving an effusive comment if you like it as much as I did. This is far and away the best piece I've ever recieved in a fic exchange - though probably because many others are of a different nature, lol. It also makes me feel a little guilty about the piece I struggled with writing at the last minute that was nowhere near this level.
