First Day

I really think I'm going to enjoy this job. So far:

new comp: widescreen monitor, 4gb ram, 600gb hd with Vista Business OS (yes, I really love Vista), nice speaker set up, remote keyboard and mouse (with charger dock)

The CEO said if there was anything I wanted not to hesitate to ask, they probably have it around.

I was reading the employee handbook and thought I'd share their section on appearance.

"Appearance and Presentation

Nobis Interactive hires only the most professional, respected, and highly sought after qualified specialists in the industry. This image should be maintained through the dress and appearance of team members when in the office or meeting with clients. Professional demeanor, work space, presentation of one's self, and use of language should be employed at all times.

1. Nobis Interactive team members are not permitted to wear sandals with socks, toe socks or any other foot covering, or sandals designed with numerous straps, Velcro, or laces.

2. Team members are required to report to company meetings each in a poncho; ponchos are defined as blanket-like cloak having a hole in the center for the head.

3. Hula skirts may be worn only with an accompanying coconut bra.

4. Hawaiian shirts may be worn, but not in cooperation with another team member wearing a Hawaiian shirt. Nobis Interactive does not tolerate Hawaiian themed Fridays.

5. Camouflage, cut-off shorts longer than knee length will not be permitted in any desert, jungle, or digital pixel pattern.

6. The wearing of spandex within the office is heavily frowned upon, even in the capacity of a legging, for a lack of professionalism is inherent within a garment that can be defined in the following: Spandex - it only wrinkles if you do.

7. Men's shoes may not have pointed toes, be pseudo-loafer-boots, slip-on, have buckles or Velcro.

8. Exposing of the mid-drift, torso, chest, or undergarments will not be tolerated."

Also, the second in command was in shorts today.
