1. What did you do in 2008 that you'd never done before?
Worked at the polls
Wrote a 20+ page paper
Waited tables
Took 5 classes in a semester
Wrote a play (several, actually)

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I didn't make one.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No

4. Did anyone close to you die?
No

5. What countries did you visit?
None foreign. Places I was in/visited: Houston, Conway, Little Rock, Starkville (MS), Austin, Biloxi. My least traveled year ever.

6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008?
Free time and a better idea of what I want to do with my life.

7. What dates from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Nov. 4, for obvious reasons.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Making an A on my senior comp as a sophomore.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Dealing with UH.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Three stress-induced trips to the ER, which sucked.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
I didn't really spend any on luxuries.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
The Obama team.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
All the standard political stuff and a few folks around the Drix.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Uh...I didn't buy much but I don't have much money to show for it.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
the election,

16. What song(s) will always remind you of 2008?
Don't know if there are any.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder? sadder, given that I was absolutely euphoric this time last year.
b) thinner or fatter? uh, about the same, even though I'm 10 pounds heavier I know it's muscle since I gained it in September when I was working out, taking proper supplements, and was thinner at the end.
c) richer or poorer? I'm pretty sure I left the stock market collapse a poorer man.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Go to various campus events and party.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Working and studying.

20. How did you spend Christmas?
With the parents in Houston, as usual.

21. How will you be spending New Years?
Me, my parents, and Kevin (mom's cousin) went to a party hosted by the scout parents.

22. Did you fall in love in 2008?
Did it last year.

23. How many one-night stands?
None.

24. What was your favorite TV program?
30 Rock, followed by Top Gear

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
no

26. What was the best book you read?
I actually read a few books this summer, but I think I liked Deep Economy by...I forget who.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
I had some pretty choice ones this summer, but didn't really have time to invest in music. I'd probably have to say either Ween or the Modern Lovers.

28. What did you want and get?
good grades.

29. What did you want and not get?
More memories of college.

30. What was your favorite film of this year?
The Dark Knight with Wall-E as a close second

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 21 and celebrated by buying white russians at the liquor store and playing the Big Lebowski Drinking Game at Luke's apartment with whoever was there at the time.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
More time.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008?
More track jackets, less blazers, except during the spring when I started wearing blazers.

34. What kept you sane?
I take pills now.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Tina Fey, who supplanted ScarJo as the ideal woman. She's hot, she's nerdy, and her life revolves around TV and food. Winner.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Economic stuff.

37. Who did you miss?
My friends.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
I really didn't get out much, but I loved the team at Fish City.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008:
1. Religion can be beneficial beyond the personal level.
