Since last updating...
not much has happened. I have moved onto phase two of winter break: movies. TiVo is full of them and there are quite a few DVDs I either need to rewatch or watch in the first place. As I got an early start on today (6AM? well, I did go to bed at 10) I was able to knock out 3 movies--Duck Soup, Annie Hall, and most of Brazil. On top of all this, I was able to get an extended lunch with Mom, do some christmas shopping, comb articles on the San Diego Union Tribune to find journalists who may have actually gotten anything from Hunter's office (guess what--they have no direct quotes not from press releases from Hunter in the last two years), and cook dinner. Well, the stuffing.
So today my family went out to lucnh (mom left her crackberry at home and needed it delievered to the office) to Cazatore's which is an Italian restaurant that is inside of an old Texas barn decorated with all sorts of crazy Italian memorobilia. So they sat us down in the middle of the dining room and a few minutes later a really big party came in. They took two tables adjacent to us but they weren't really by each other, so the manager came out and asked that we move to another table so everybody i nthe other group could sit together. AFter we moved, they offered free dessert. Sweet (literally).
As I've implied, writing for theScoop has been pretty difficult, mostly due to an inability to find sources. AFter today's search through the SDUT I'm beginning to think it really isn't my fault but still think my journalizing skills need improvement (I have backgrounds in politics and creative writing--not journalism). Anyway, I'm thinkin gabout starting a blog ab out writing for the Scoop just to open up my process and be open to a wider array of suggestions. Some brainstorming with the parents has helped, but I would like some more guidance.
