Lately I've been in the habit of ordering these really good drinks from the Burrow. I walk up with my swanky tea tumbler and tell them to fill it with a hot chocolate and a double espresso. It's really quite divine. I've also realized that i have enough burrowbucks to get one whenever I want it despite the fairly hefty price tag. It's a nice routine, I go in, they mix it for me (in my cup) and everything goes smoothly. Two nights ago Vanessa was working the cash register and had trouble ringing it up. Sure, I like the girl and we've been hanging out a lot lately but she just couldn't ring it up right. Then a different Burrow lady started mixing my drink (the black-haired one, not the white-haired one as usual) and included cream on top, even though I didn't specify it. She also mixed it in a paper cup which is something I don't use (along with styrofoam, plastic shopping bags, and generally most things that are highly ephemeral but not biodegradable--oh, but next semester we're getting cups made out of corncobs that do biodegrade). It was athe least satisfying usual I've ever had. I'm going to call it a usual because I hope that in the near future I will be able to walk up to the Burrow, order "the usual" and get a hot chocolate with two shots of espresso in it. I've always wanted to be able to order "the usual" from somewhere and get exactly what I wanted. Just to be on those kind of terms with a professional establishment, even if it is the college cafe, would be saying something.

I've also recently re-committed myself to classes, but this is only showing any result in Buddhism since accounting got very confusing very fast and Chinese is just plain confusing (I'm blaming the new teacher, I'm sorry, her teaching style is completely incompatible with how I learn and may be dropping the class next semester even though it's major required--given the lack of stability in that department, I'm willing to take that bet).

WE had a guy talk to those of us in HEAT today who basically told us that of the dozens of colleges he visits, we by far do the best campus visits for prospies. It was that ADD guy who talked to us last year and gave me the defunct Starbucks gift card. By the way, if you're cruising Youtube, go look for the video "drinkin' time" it's hilarious.

REal update coming later.

Oh, and tomorrow I may become a published journalist. scoop08 launched on the 4th but real material goes up tomorrow. Who else is stoked?
