(no subject)
As you can tell by my lack of entries, I've given up on having an internet connection to my room. However, there's a lot to talk about so here's a brief update:
If I haven't mentioned it, I'm working at Canoesport, mostly in the storage room. It's an okay job. There isn't a whole lot of learning or meaningful work but I do get to set my own hours. That part's great. It's mostly uninteresting except somebody brought in a wooden canoe to work on yesterday. As much of my life I've spent around canoes I've never seen a wooden one that actually gets used. It's glorious.
This was one of the stranger weekends of my life. Clare flew down since she could get cheap airline tickets but it was also the weekend of my parents' 30th anniversary party (everybody liked the music...they'd better have). Incidentally, both of Dad's sisters came to town with their husbands for the party so that's two sets of aunts an uncles around for the time my parents get to meet my girlfriend. But things wound up going very well and I"m extrememly happy she visited.
It was also a great party. Whenever there's lots of food from Treebeard's, things have to be good. Unfortunately, we just finished the leftovers.
I'm back at school in a week. I'm ready to get out of here. If I could leave tomorrow, I would. And yes, that does include knowing I'd have to pack tonight.
