Crowdsourcing

I have a variety of things I need resources for. Maybe there's somebody still reading this thing who can help. ;)

1. I'd like to get some sort of hair product to help keep the flyaways down when I put my hair in braids or ropes: basically, something that will minimize how many of the weird little broken/curly bits will frizz out of the braid/rope over time, and thus probably something that I would apply once the braiding/twisting is already done. Hairspray and gel are too heavy/stiff for what I'm after; I'm guessing some kind of wax is what I need. But I know nothing about this product. Does anyone have any suggestions for a product or brand you like that would be good for this? I'd prefer not to pay a huge price but quality matters in such things. I just have no idea where to start on this sort of thing.

2. Is there anywhere I might be able to find--for reasonable prices--any of the following?
--Ruffled eyelet trim in BLACK
--Cluny lace in BLACK
--Battenberg lace in BLACK
Size isn't a huge concern on any of these; the color is the primary aspect. (Dyeing is not an optimal option, unless these things exist in dark colors other than black. So far I've only been able to find these items in white or ivory, and it's very difficult with home dyeing to take white or ivory to true black. If the stuff actually exists somewhere I'd far rather buy it.)

3. Is there anywhere I can get a late 1890s-style bumpad/bumroll? I want the kind that will give the subtle trailing effect under skirts that are slightly fuller in the back, like this. The ones I find online seem to be more suited to earlier, more pronounced bustle styles, though I might be misjudging the shape/size, but I don't want to spend the money to find out I'm wrong; if I am wrong and the ones found on eBay, for example, are suitable, being reassured of that would be very helpful. I would prefer not to spend a large amount of money (certainly under $100), and less costly is better than more, but I do try not to be a cheapskate for things such as this, especially for good quality. (This is another thing where "make it myself" is not really the correct answer, though I'd be open to paying someone else to make one.)

4. I have this plan for swatching eye shadows that involves putting them on paper. Because paper has no moisture and no "give," the shadows don't adhere very well. What could I use to improve this? I want something that will get them to adhere when I apply, not necessarily something to seal them afterwards (though that wouldn't be a bad thing), and that doesn't stay sticky for a long time. I've tried hairspray for this in the past (spraying the paper first and then applying the shadows); it works okay, but I feel like there's probably something out there that would be a better option. Spray adhesive was my next thought, but it tends to remain a bit tacky even after it dries, in my experience. Maybe I need to just buy some eye shadow primer explicitly for this idea., but maybe there's something out there in the crafts world that would be suitable for this and I just don't know about it.

Thank you kindly!
