iconsomnia rebooted!

So, there was this thing called the-lj-reboot, which was the livejournal equivalent of something I'd always wanted to participate in (the css reboot (november 2005)), most deftly run by grrliz. Of course, I knew I wanted to participate, and decided to reboot this journal, because it was seriously out of date and I was more than a little bored with it.

Hehe, wanting to create something that isn't so 'livejournal'-y is something we both believe in, it would seem. I'm with you - if someone can tell straight away which journal style my layout it based on, then I've not customised it enough. XD I spend so much time off livejournal (at web design blogs mainly), that I've really come to admire those styles you find away from the worlds of fandoms and lj-graphics, that I always seem to be trying to emulate that feel in my own layouts.

And as for that footer thing, I'm glad you like it - it was rather a last minute addition. Needed somewhere to stick my Wilde quote, and thought my top banner(?) looked a bit like a ribbon hanging over the top, so why not wrap it the whole way around? ;)

I wondered if it might do that - if I make a change, would you be willing to see if it works then?

Hmm. Darn Opera, it's never liked me. XD If I were making a proper website, from scratch, I'd be really particular about making sure it worked in Opera, but because of the way overrides work, I find making livejournal layouts work in it a real pain in the arse.

Out of interest, is my sidebar text really huge on your computer?

And I have no idea why my journal's trying to centre itself. I'm going to trawl through the code until I find the offending lines though. >__> Promise.

Righteo, I've been messing with the code on my tester journal, and it's looking a bit better in Opera now. When I figure out all the kinks there, I'll transfer them to livejournal. :3 Might not be until tomorrow though. Ehehe.
