What version of photoshop are you using...and god I don't even want to admit how I go the long way around to do everything lol Jeeez.

Hey, thanks, this is really useful and the screengrabs make it easy to follow. I've been trying to teach myself enough Photoshop to make passable icons, but most people's tutorials just freak me out, they're too complicated. For instance, I don't have any kind of grasp on the whole layers thing--but now I have confidence I can at least get things square properly! :-)
