Yay, I've been waiting for this since the 1st ♥

Third icon, the mosaic effect is there to give the text a blurred effect to edit out a naughty word. I wanted to use the original icon for another site and played around with Photoshop to get that effect.

Hi! i'm not good ad giving concrit but i will try my best.

1. I think the green is too saturated and it takes the focus away from the person in the icon. But in a positive note i like the simple crop and your use of light.

2. This is a very nice icon, simple but lovely, nice colors and nice crop.

3. I admire anyone that uses text and fonts in graphics because i suck at it, but the icon is a little pale and lacks contrast, for example it would have been wonderful for Elmo to stand out a little.(but this could be my own personal taste showing)

4. I like this crop and the color, if there is anything to say is that it's a little dark, but i love it just how it is, i LOVE dark icons.

5. Fantastic! my favorite, love the colors but i think a little bit of contrast would make this an amazing icon.

01: I like the colors of the background and I like the coloring on the guy; however, I like them separately. I think saori1f is correct in pointing out that there's a bit of disconnection between the background and subject because of how bright and in your face the green is. It might be helpful at either tone that down or jazz the rest of the icon up (maybe try some funky light textures or something. I'd recommend something by midnight_road if you want fun and bright). Other than that, I think this icon is quite nice. The separate coloring elements are lovely and the crop is good. I even love the slightly grainy edges. Makes the icon seem more raw and action oriented and he kind looks like he's a fighter of some sort so I feel like it fits in terms of meaning or atmosphere.

02: Not really to my taste, but all in all a very nice icon. I like the subtle colors running through it that create a rainbow-esque effect without being ridiculously vibrant. It's cool and laid back much like the subject.

03: I like this icon overall. I do agree, again, with saori1f about it maybe being a touch too bright and washed out. It actually hides the pixellation effect you were going for, and if you hadn't explained it in your blurb, I wouldn't have know that aspect was even there. Since the profanity is part of the joke, I would assume, it makes sense to capitalize on this particular technique and make it more obvious and clear. In this case, you don't have to worry about pulling attention off elmo because the text is actually the focus; Elmo is just decoration. So feel free to really make the text (and the missing text) really bold and out there and visible (make it darker, change the font to something more exciting, etc).

04: I love this! The rotated angle is so unique and creative. I love the side face crop. The coloring is really, really pretty. And your light use is fantastic in this. I think it could be a touch brighter just in the facial area because I look at the bright corner first, but that's just a small nit pick, to be honest.

05: I also love this quite a bit so I have no real critique. If you don't mind me allowing personal taste to color my dialogue for just a moment, I would suggest, again, some texture use here just to balance out how harsh the shadows are at the bottom. Maybe a texture that's black and white (or that you can make black and white very easily) and then set on lighten or screen? erzsebet just posted some great sets at songburst that I plan on pimping out till the cows come home because they are great, but there's a fabulous black and white set that would be perfect for the type of thing I'm talking about.

And just for visual aid (because those are always fun), an example:

I made this last night, but I felt that the shadows were too harsh especially when coupled with bright, saturated coloring (like yours in that fifth example), so I added a paint texture (maker unknown unfortunately or I'd link you!) just to soften out the blacks and add some interesting texture which I think would spice #5 right up!

And that's all I've got for you! Hopefully it lives up to your expectations for the meme, haha and you can find some helpful tid bits within it!
