I totally love #2! it has gorgeous coloring and composition! ♥
1. I love the blend here, but I feel the sharpness of the larger image doesn't quite go with the blurriness of the smaller one. I think maybe sharpening up the background a smidge might help, but also blurring the edges of the foreground image (either by feathering the selection as you cut it out/masking away the background with a softer brush or merging the image and then going over the edges with a blur brush) would give the icon a more cohesive look.
2. I love this one, seriously. :D No crit here.
3. I like the text effect you've done here, but in my opinion, trying to do the same with the image makes for an odd composition. Since the shifted layer is not entirely visible, it gives the subject super blurry edges and nothing else. If you want a piecey look, a variation of this kind of thing (icon my realproof might be better suited to it.
4. I love your coloring on this icon! However, I think the way the subject kind of disappears into the background makes for a bit of an awkward look. First, since the "crop" isn't exactly the same on both sides - on one, the eye is intact, on the other, part of it is cut off - the icon looks a bit unbalanced. It appears that the blend into the background was done mostly using a smudge brush, which makes for an awkward dark shape in the lower righthand corner, which looks odd compared to the lightness all around. If you were to keep that part light, I think it would help to draw a bit of a line between subeject and background, which would give the icon more of a 3D look.
5. Love your use of negative space here, but the smallness of the subject + the darkness of the icon makes it a bit hard to see what's going on. A bit more brightness might help to not lose detail in the dark parts.
1. Yeah the cap quality for the smaller image was shocking , that's why it's blurred so much, plus I haven't met a blur I didn't love yet! LOL. I cannot wait until November when we finally get BLURAY of Farscape! Yay.
3. OMG! That is the exact icon I took inspiration from when I did #3. You read my mind.

Hope some of that helped!

3. Haha! That's funny! Wasn't it a super creative icon?
Also, excuse my typos in the last comment. Apparently, I am bad at this.
