OK, jumping in first here, Not entirely comfortable with giving concrit yet so I suppose it will be a learning curve for me.
1. I really like the first icon. I love the caption from Big Bang Theory and I liked the different font use. I personally probably wouldn't have used italics for the last word because I feel it gives it an unecessary emphasis that slightly confused me. And I probably would have lowered the white text a tad as unless you know the line, the Crazy isn't that clear.
2. Again, I like this icon. Great use of the cap and while I am always for experimentation, I think maybe keeping the big N and losing the two OO's would have been better. Having both is a little too much I feel and you lose the impact of the placement. But again, that is probably a personal preference.
3/4. I feel these two are too light in colouring. I would have had a litle more contrast so you had a true black showing through. Maybe a selective colouring layer with the black pumped up so you kept the other facets of the colouring. To me they looked washed out without it.
5. Nothing too offer fro this icon. I really like it.
Icon 1: The crop works for the placement of the text, however I feel that the text itself (the text in blue and orange) seems a bit pixelated, perhaps changing the anti aliasing of the text.
Icon 2: The size of the "N" for me doesn't work well with the "OO's" also large. The crop works, but I'm more drawn to the text because of the conflict.
Icon 3: The crop works here, but the coloring is a little too light. Adding some adjustments would make this icon be a great stand alone icon. The font effect her is really good.
Icon 4: The coloring here is again a little light and the icon is blurry, maybe because of the cap used. If that is not the change and if you tried to blur the image yourself, perhaps try this method. Duplicate your base twice, gaussian blur the first duplicated layer to Normal at around 51-55 percent. Then sharpen the second duplicated layer to Normal about 55 perecent. I do this with all of my icons, and I think the effect works.
Icon 5: I think this icon works, great composition and lighting.
