Coloring Tutorial 01

This is my first tutorial. =D




Program: Photoshop CS3 Extended
Translatable: No, sorry =(
Involves: Selective Coloring, Levels, Channel Mixer (for those who want to know)
Particularities: can be used for stock too

We'll use this picture of YooBin.


1. SHARPEN and then, FADE 53%. But this step is really up to you. In this case I didn’t do it.

2. Duplicate your base and set to SCREEN.

3. New selective coloring layer:
REDS: -80/0/0/0
YELLOWS: 0/0/17/25
WHITES: 100/7/-58/-14
BLACKS: 0/0/11/0

4. New selective coloring layer:
BLACKS: 0/0/0/5

5. New fill layer #45292b. Set to EXCLUSION at 40%.

6. New levels layer:
RGB
In.: 7/1,17/237
Out.: 10/238
RED
In.: 10/1,50/255
Out.: 4/255
GREEN
In.: 0/1,18/255
Out.: 0/233
BLUE
In.: 0/1,00/255
Out.: 0/255
7. New hue and saturation layer
MASTER
Saturation : 35

8. New channel mixer layer
Red: 80/-10/10
Green: 0/100/0
Blue: 0/0/100

9. New fill layer #0a1134. Set to EXCLUSION.

10. New fill layer #251503. Set to EXCLUSION.

11. Duplicate your base layer and bring to the top. Set to SOFT LIGHT at 51%.

12. New hue and saturation layer.
MASTER
Saturation: 30

and you're done !
