Color Problem

Okay, when I try to color black and white pictures, the color palette thing always ends up black for darker colors or a light grey for lighter colors, as shown under the cut.

The problem is that your image is actually set to be black and white, so those are the only colors that can be used on it. If you go to Image > Mode (or something like that) you should be able to change it from black and white to color. If you're still having problems I'll boot up Photoshop and try to find the exact things to click on, but it's something along those lines.

You're trying to edit a grayscale image.

Go Image > Mode > RGB. That will get you going again. :)

I actually had this same problem!
And I too, was also trying to color manga! xD

But rayvin813 got it right! ^^

When you created a new image, the image mode was set to greyscale, so you have to change it to RGB. ^^

Another way to "convert" the image so you can use color.
Lets say you want to color a manga page. simply
CTRL+A then CTRL+C then open up a new document and CTRL+V
onto the new document and then you should be able to use color ;)
