In Err... Some Steps
A Tutorial by burakkudragon (in Photoshop 7) Imageheavy
First Filter->Sharpen->Sharpen.
Now here's where it gets tricky (I know, right from the start, darn) Duplicate the base, then Image->Rotate Canvas->Flip Canvas Horizontally, then do that again excpet vertically.
...
Move that layer up slightly :
...
Then go back to the original picture, bring it to the top and crop it like this:
...
(You get that, right?)
Now with both layers visible it should look like this:
Now on to the color. Apply this gradient to the picture set at Soft Light 100%.
...
Nice red tinge.
Then apply this gradient at Multiply 100%.
...
Then bring your original two layers to the top set both to Soft Light.
to 100% on top of
which is set to 15%.
More things, yeyz! I added a stroke around him by selecting him with the magic wand tool as shown:
I did this by selecting him in the soft light layer in the grey areas, inverting, and then deselecting some layers... yea?
Go to Edit->Stroke and apply as shown.
Now it should look like so:
See the white between him and the stroke, It was worse before, but I fixed that by going to the soft light layer, eyedropping the color of the stroke, and filling in the white areas slightly.
Then I put a stroke around the outer box by selection and inverting:
Then Edit->Stroke as before.
Taa Daa!
Almost Done! I used a text brush by (tell me if it's yours!). In #000000, and erased the areas that crossed over him.
...
LAST STEP!! YEYZ!! I added a final gradient set to Soft Light 35%.
...
And your done! OMG that was a large undertaking. If you see any of your stuff here tell me(that's so horrible of me)!
Tell me if it's hard to understand.
