Simple Tutorial
I have a new icon tutorial for you. We're making
in PS CS2.
1.
Dupicate your base twice. (Mine is an HP screencap) Set the first layer (closet to your base) on screen at about 40% opacity. Then set the second duplicate on soft light at 100% opacity.
2.
Create two new layers. Flood fill the first with #3383ac and put it on color burn at about 40% opacity. Flood fill the second with #fff2d4 and put it on multiply at 100% opacity.

Duplicate your base and bring it above all your layers. Set it on soft light at 100% opacity. Then take this
gradient by me and set it on lighten at 100% opacity.
4.
(Merge visable) Take this brush
by me and set it on screen at 100% opacity. Now duplicate you bottom layer (the merged visable one) and make sure it's under the brush. Desaturate it and flip it horizontaly. Now move it down and rotate it so that the brush hides the seem between the two layers. Then add text or whatever else you want and you're done.
