Happy New Year, icon_talk!

As promised, it's time for our second round of Ask the Maker! Here you'll get the chance to ask icon makers who sign up, questions about their icons/graphics. You can ask for tutorials, guides/walk through, or simply ask a question regarding their work so the makers can compile a Q&A post, with the answers to all the questions ( Read more... )

What does walk through mean?

Here I see it as something in between a tutorial and a Q&A that a maker can answer with a sentence or two or long paragraphs. In a way it's a simplified tutorial of sorts. In tutorials the steps are often explained with images and directions, even the simpler ones. A walk-through is a more simplified version where the explanation is more superficial.

Did that make sense? That is my definition of it at least, others might define it different, so feel free to interpret it as you like, or discard it completely, lol :)

What can we request from you (tutorials, Q&A, walk through, other (specify))?: Tutorials (general or specific icons, although I can't guarantee I'll remember how I did something), Q&A's, the whole shebang
Can we hotlink your icons?: Of course!

I am here, supporting this question, by nodding vigorously. But you can't see that, so you'll just have to picture it.

I've always wondered... How do you preserve details in images that are zoomed this far out?

Great question! That's something I've been wondering, too. Would love to hear how it's done. I have the same problem and yet I use the same caps as most others in my fandom, so it can't be the cap quality.

But - I'd love to hear what others do.

What can we request from you (tutorials, Q&A, walk through, other (specify))?: Tutorials, walk throughs and Q&As are all fine, although I might not remember how I made a specific icon.
Can we hotlink your icons?: Go for it!

Since you've already made a coloring tut AND IT IS LOVELY, how about a composition one for uncreative noobs like meself? :)

I would love to hear about your coloring! I don't have a specific icon in mind, but 1. your yellows are so light and soft and glow-y and bright and 2. those gorgeous muted(ish) yellow/blue/green tones that you've been doing lately and I don't even.
