Recommend me something based on the following: Steampunk + pirates Music similar to these songs 1, 2, 3 Whatever you think of when looking at this picture (like another picture, a word, a book, a movie, etc.)
...so I have pirate recs, but none of them are steampunk??? Is the steampunk vital?? Also do you care if it is, technically, YA? What about male protagonists; does that put you off?? (So many questions! Sorry! D:)
lol I don't mind if they're not steampunk, it's just what popped into my head while thinking about pirates.
I'll read anything. I sometimes even prefer YA books because they're written better than adult books half the time or I'm just terrible at picking out books and find all the awful ones...
Okay, so I have a Steampunk and not really pirates but pirate-like behaviour. It's called Predator Cities, and is a four-book series that is kind of awesome. Well, the first two are. I actually still need to read the second two. It's YA which makes it easy to read, and the females in the story are the greatest.
Words that come to mind when looking at the picture: crone, displaced, bleak, empty, universe. Also, Terry Pratchett, because Discworld is carried on the back of a turtle, and this make me think that the universe is being carried on the back of her shoulders.
I just wanted to know what other people thought of it really. I like to pick people's brains whenever I can (because the human mind fascinates) me and see how different everyone's thought processes are. This was the best way I could think of to see it in action so to speak.
For me when I see something I like or love (this mainly happens with art and music) I get a series of vague images and colors in my minds eye and like a general 'feeling', kind of like a overall theme I guess? It's really hard to explain!
This image in particular I get a feeling of peace from it and a touch of something dark, a past evil deed maybe?
I definitely get words. Always words. But then I definitely love writing, and have always been better with written things than visual things so it's probably part of who I am to think that way first? Idk. I'm super glad you asked that question now, it's got me thinking all sorts of random thoughts, haha.
2. book, i want to say Harry POtter, but I'm going to go with sth less typical and say The Pillars of the Earth. WHY I DONT KNOW, cause it's gorgeous, the characters are amazing, it has one of my fave female characters ever, and one of my OTP OF OTPS, adn Hayley and Eddie got to play them in the miniseries, MY LOVES.
STEAMPUNK. Gosh, I think I'm gonna be lurking around these answers because the whole Hollaballo-whatever has me aching for some steampunk.
