Okay, maybe I'm being a party pooper but I personally think the center was a pretty big waste of money. $20 million for Overture Hall and lots of limestone lobby. Apparently, there's a samller concert space somewhere . . . I've been hearing the "Not actually Live from the Elvejem" ads on WPR since Monday.

Have you ever performed in the old Oscar Mayer Theater before? I mean, maybe the limestone and everything is a little over-the-top, but the old theater was really, really terrible.

I'm totally for the new performing space. I wish the money would have gone into more performing space and less into glass domes, limestone lobbies, brass railings, etc, etc.

Evidently Kanopy had their Winter Joy Concert in the Wisconsin Studio instead of at music hall and it was a disaster. The reviewer for Isthmus had to stand on a chair in the back to see.
