Not in Real Life
Harry and Hermione were sitting on her couch in front of the TV. They had just watched a rerun of House, and were agreeing that while the medical plot was good, the relationship story left something to be desired.
"Honestly," complained Hermione, "how can Cameron expect House to take her seriously? She's what, half his age? She's never done anything, and on top of that he's her supervisor. I can understand what she sees in him: he's brilliant, accomplished, and witty even though he seems a little rough. But her? She's nothing but a silly girl."
"Yeah," agreed Harry with feeling, "it makes no sense. It's like trying to have Foreman and Chase get together. That whole antagonism-as-suppressed-desire premise. Completely incredible; that just wouldn't work in real - "
He was interrupted by the floo. Severus brushed off some imaginary soot, sneered at Harry, and announced flippantly, "Hi honey, I'm home." He pulled Hermione in for a prolonged kiss.
Harry got up and backed towards the floo, looking slightly sick. Of course Snape was taking the piss, but Harry still hadn't gotten used to the idea of Hermione with Snape, and Snape took every opportunity to make him feel uncomfortable. Harry cleared his throat and the couple separated, Hermione looking slightly dazed. "I'll just be off then," said Harry. "Draco and I are eating out tonight."
"All right, thanks for dropping by. You two have a good evening," replied Hermione.
