Generally, coconut milk tastes not nessesarily sour, but bitter. I imagine sour equals rotten and bitter equals good.
I've gotten to calling it "milk" because it is thick, while the King Coconut produces a fairly pure water inside and is used soley for drinking (don't eat that type of coconut cant even find it in this country that I know of).
They sell coconut juice that you can try to see how it really tastes (in most Asian market places).
Coconut juice: I'll have to look for that next time I go to Cao Nguyun. I've also been seeing those cone/pyramid-ish coconuts that apparently are mostly for juice...
