So...helping my sister move.
Carrying her computer base unit (or whatever the hell it's called) down three flights of stairs, a bit tired and dizzy from the cold and effort of earlier, and I manage to stumble and drop it INTO my leg -corner down. OWWWWWWWW! I gently set it on the landing and feel my leg. And PANIC.
I decide I want to go to the hospital. Which was wise.
I now have 13 staples in my left leg a few inches above the knee. It hurts. A lot. Oddly the area isn't really sensitive though, just strong general pain....but I think my nerves are still utterly confused and partially shutdown or damaged maybe. I dunno. I'm still babying the area though because I'm quite sure if I snagged one of the staples I would find out where ALL the nerves are in rather excruciating fashion. Plus I don't want anything to interfere with the healing process.
It's pretty scary looking. Like one of those kits you get for Halloween. I had my sister and brother take pictures.
I guess I'm going to have to get rides to and from work for a little while. Downside of a manual shift. Oh, I suppose I could probably drive it with just one foot since it's the left one that's hurt but I've done that before and I lack the ability to express just how much a pain in the ass that is. Besides, I'm in pain already, *whine, and in no mood for that.
Still debating whether or not to look up medical stuff online....
I want to know what I need to do to keep this mess well taken care of, but I tend to be a bit of a hypochondriac when reading symptoms for things and don't want to freak myself out.
