I just finished watching Amuse’s The Game (courtesy of the generous
how_amuseing) and…wow.
This is just one of those times that I really wish I was knowledgeable in Niponggo, both oral and written.
The film compilation is just so awesome. It was a brilliant idea for Amuse to do this type of thing. I mean, it was a gamble, wasn’t it? But then again, if you gather 40 of your teenage talents (who are guys, by the way), the fangirls would just eat that up in an instant. There’s Miura Haruma and Sato Takeru that are in the mainstream, after all. (Then again, I’m not really in the position to say this as I barely am knowledgeable of Amuse’s guys.)
The intro was so cool. I was so engrossed in Haruma and Takeru’s chase that it barely registered to me that the streets on which they are running on were empty. No sign of another human being apart from them. The music very much helped heighten my excitement too. And I had a good laugh when I noticed how different the two actors ran; Haruma was fighting for his life while Takeru looked like a terminator. Haha
Anyway, when it came to its end… O_o. Huh?! Naglagsanay sila para sa ulihi mag.tumba patis!?!?
I mean, that had me face palming and wonder if the rest of the short films were as crack. But as I watched it again, it had me and my brother amused to no end.
Game 1 - Black Jack HG
Ooohhh…gambling. I thought it was like those typical underground gambling movies. Guy 1 and Guy 2 battle for Guy 1’s girl, Guy 1 loses so the girl goes to Guy 2, Guy 2 disagrees, he’s kicked and he proposes a rematch. Well, he trains and his training is befitting for a…boxing tournament. But adorably, Takeru’s somewhere being dorky in his pajamas and what, training his pup? These guys’ way of playing blackjack…um, no comment. I certainly wouldn’t think of that. But the characters were so serious with it; that made bang my head a couple of times (my poor brain cells). Yoshitaka Yuriko was beautiful in here. But I will always relate her to that one scene in Love Shuffle where she was so cute in saying, Joe. The highlight, however, is the rogue challenger at the end of the clip. *two thumbs up*
Game 2 - Jinsei no Game
I didn’t understand what they were saying save for some English and some easy Japanese phrases but I got how the story went. It’s like Jumanji but instead of animals being let loose, it’s a chance of being in the music industry. The only guys I know are Sakurada Dori, Sakamoto Shougo, Miura Haruma, and Sato Takeru. And the last three were only there under ten seconds. But even if that was the case, I thoroughly enjoyed it. It also helped that it was only under half an hour. It surely had my attention in check. Maybe it’s good that there were not English subs. I focused on their acting. I just had this thought that Dori’s acting is somewhat similar to Kamiki’s in Tantei Gakuen Q - the pouts and confused faces. Or maybe that’s just me. And I also want to know what the title of the song is, the one Kaku Kento and Dori played! It’s so nice, really. So unlike the JE sound I often hear (hahaha…not that I’m comparing them though. I’m fond of them both, I swear!). But, of course, this should be mentioned: Ai no fencing love.
Game 3 - Othello
Remember when I wondered if the short films were as crack as the intro? Well, there’s an affirmative for that. This short features everyone; 40 high school boys going gaga over the prospect of having a female transfer student and chanting oppai, oppai, oppai. This one had me keeled over in laughter and I almost regretted sharing this with my brother as he seemed to think that it would be a good way to control his mirth by hitting me every single second.
But this, this is win. I had a lot of fun watching at the dynamics of this class. Haruma and Dori did a good job in being geeks (who, wow, later turned into cool guys [thoroughly acknowledged by the class] by just losing the glasses). Shougo is so cute coming in class with someone carrying him bridal style and then sticking the microphone to his mouth every single time he speaks. There was this one boy who really caught my eye but I can’t seem to match his face in the video to a picture in the pamphlet (and I’m trying really hard here but it’s quite hard). Kamiki is epic with his voice and get up (Inchou!). Takeru, however, pwns them all! I LOLed so much when he got to speak. Goodness gracious; it defied all cool tactics. In the end, the transfer student…had the whole class do a ripple of heads falling into desks.
Game 4 - King’s Game
This was actually the last one I saw and this is the opposite of all the crack. Kamiki!!! I think not many guys can have the topmost button of polo shirts without looking like priests or otakus. This boy, however, can rock it. He neither looks like a minister nor a geeky kid. He actually looks cool in it.
You know what else is cool? Kamiki’s character. The scriptwriter and casting directors are awesome beyond amazing. When he put his hand in boiling water, facial expression was right on the dot. His character was quite disturbing but that just means that Kamiki is brilliant because he can swing that kind of character. It was so psychotic, so mental, so epic.
Game 5 - Kyuu~Fai~DEATH MATCH
This is another crack. As how my brother would say it, Ouran Host Club in the real world - with host agencies in tough competitions. Where do I even begin with this? Kamiki…looks good with his hairstyle. I don’t want to comment on his delinquent character (not yet anyway). Although, it was amusing that he sets up an appointment to finish the fight because he’s whisked off by two girls who threw some stuff at his opponent and called that person stupid. There are two teams; one team is dressed in white suits while the other wears a uniform with red blazer (that might not be the case but it’s how I perceived it). Best friends Shougo and Dori are on opposing teams. Shougo is the most histrionic of them all, having a blue feather boa. Takeru looks hot, especially when drenched. If I was one of the girls, I probably would’ve laughed at them (thank god they don’t have a character as sarcastic as mine or my best friend)…and then proceeded to flail over the ikemens.
One of them (to me) has almost the same mannerisms as Akanishi Jin. He also kind of looks like Jin - when a litre of water has been sucked out of his face. But, oh well. When Shougo won his bout, there was this pleased action that he did, almost projecting something along the lines of oh, I’m good. Takeru and Kaku Kento, how long did that have to last? But that was the most hilarious part. I should probably be reproached for saying that seeing as the dudes were very serious in that film but I can’t help it. It really was the most amusing part. And towards the end, I could see just how much Dori spoiled Shougo. It goes way past reel. Really cute.
Game 5, the Making
Not much…so far because, really, I don’t know the cast that much. The two team’s face-off…they were laughing even a second before the director said cut. And that was adorable. Dori was the one giggliest with Shougo in front of him. Takeru mumbled his name and I really did not understand it. Dori kept making funny faces with Takeru as facilitator. He was good with it.
Amongst all of that, there was a DorixShougo moment! It was so cute and adorable and and and alkajfksfaasfkj. This is like YamaJima. Wait, Yamajima’s dead I’m about to get shot here with that statement. It’s OkaJima now and AriYama. But wait, it should entirely be its own. Dori x Shougo (I can’t make any name smashes. All the ones I’ve made sound stupid and as my teacher said: if it doesn’t sound good, then it’s not correct). I’m currently begging some higher power out there to bring about a DorixShougoxKamiki drama (and if it’s not much, could you also add all the rest of the actors and actresses in this year’s Horikoshi 1D?). These guys should be pimped more, please.
I hope someone subs this because even though I understood the films just by inference, it’s still nice to actually know what exactly they are saying. *sigh*
I think I’m starting to have a new addiction. The Game seems to have facilitated my interest in these Amuse guys. There are actually quite a lot of cute guys in here. I just need time to match their names with their faces.
This is actually going to be easier as most of the guys here are my age, some even older than me. I don’t have to worry about actually thinking of being a pedo; what, with Hey!Say!JUMP as my current fixation along with Arashi (but then Arashi’s more than legal and are all older than me so it’s just H!S!J with half of the guilt trip). I mean, not that I’m pedo or anything close to that, it’s just unnerving sometimes. It’s just going to be hard as internet junkies have more scoop on JE than any other agencies. I’ve already seen quite a number of message boards for Amuse artists but the problem lies with the fact that they operate in kanji characters. I tried Google translate and it was useless. Most of them were not decoded and those some that were sounded quite ridiculous. Blegh.
So I’m off to watch the films again...
