Damn, I really need to post more often XD;

In my last singing lesson, we started "Ave Maria" (the Schubert one), which is really fun! Expect memorizing it in latin is...not fun XD;. We also did "O Holy Night", but the...er...the meoldy confuses me. The way that it doesn't start on the first beat is @.@.

Anyway, I saw Idomeneo today, and all of the singers were great! Especially Magdalena Kozena, who played the Prince, Idamante. The story was nice and the drama wasn't over the top. But, like in Il Barbiere Di Siviglia, they sang the same lyrics over WAY too many times. Plus, there were two tenors and NO baritones...x.X.

Before and after the show, my mom and I checked out the Met Opera Shop, which has some AWESOME, but totally overpriced stuff! They have these adorable Handel, Mozart, Beethovan, etc. musical dolls that you can wind up, and Christmas tree ornaments, and a whole two walls (and stacks!) of CDs and DVDs! The outside area is so lovely... They ornamented the huge evergreen tree in front and the bare trees in the  back. I should've brought my camera!!!

Moving on, are any of you guys into politics? They facinate me, but I can't find anyone to discuss them with! =/

I'm bringing this up because I'd like to talk to someone who has opposing views with respect to mine, but can hold a conversation without going off like a raving lunatic. I detest extremists... I myself get quite upset over some issues, but I never let it out when talking to someone. Unless, of course, I'm ranting near my mother XD;;.

Anyway, next I'm going to see Kristine Chenoweth in "The Apple Tree!"  My mom totally tricked me:

Her: We have tickets in the front row...
Me: *GASP OF JOY*
Her: ...of the balcony.
Me:... v_v

She didn't do it on purpose...but...arg!

Christmas vacation is coming up... I'll probably get loads of homework, but at least I'll be free! ...ish. XD;;

the met opera store, the met, idomeneo, kristin chenoweth, politics, the apple tree
