QOTD: "I've had a perfectly wonderful evening. But this wasn't it."
For all the talk I did this week about wanting to sleep, I surely am not following through on it. I may have forgotten how to sleep.
This week I composed my résumé and portfolio and applied to a photog position in D.C. with the USDA. It's a GS-09/11 position, which would be about a $20k/yr raise for me to start. Honestly, I'm not really confident about my chances, but I applied anyway. Our last contract day is Nov. 30, so by that point I'll either be out of a job or will be a GS employee. I suppose it's possible I could be hired on somewhere else. I think my GS-equivalent position will come through as a 7, but we'll just have to see. It would be more money than I'd have made if I'd gotten the Columbus position, so that's something. Really kind of want to be out of the area, though. Getting into GS would be worth another year, though. Very much so. I really don't want to be 30 before I'm able to get out of the region, however. At this point I'm just playing the cards that come my way. I think I've done most of what I could. Not upset about that. Just tired.
This weekend is dedicated to a hard push on photo editing and a restart of my daily exercise.
Oh, and two weeks ago I was given a challenge coin by an OSI special agent.
