Strange dreams

QOTD: “Another syllogism. All cats die. Socrates is dead. Therefore Socrates is a cat.”

Went to bed around 2:30AM. I dreamt. I dreamt that I was staring at my ceiling. And I was. I was awake. I realized that I was awake and looked at my alarm clock. The time was 4:46AM. I had about 30 minutes until the alarm was to go off at 5:13. I decided to go back to sleep. I dreamt. I dreamt I was watching my alarm clock. I watched the time switch from 5:12 to 5:13. I awoke. I sat up and looked at the alarm clock. The time was 5:12AM. I got up and turned it off. I stared at it for a moment. The time remained 5:12. I stared more. The time remained 5:12. I decided to look away. When I looked back, the time was 5:12. I became bored and turned to look at my doorframe in the dark. I looked back and the time was 5:13.

I am given pause because when I realized I was awake and staring at my ceiling, I became aware that I had no transition between the dreaming world and the waking world. I don't remember waking up. Like sitting in a parked car, looking out the front window, and then looking at the same thing, but from in front of the car without ever having gotten out of the car. Given my propensity for dreaming ordinary things, this is cause for deep concern. Unfortunately, there is no way to prove status in either plane. [looks for the moon] Is that a deer?
