Surgery day

Jun 17, 2010 09:25

Well, we dropped Benjamin at the surgeon's clinic this morning.  Now that he's recovered from his previous surgery, and we've gotten tests done, second opinions and even a third opinion that all say he likely doesn't have cancer, we're going ahead with having his colon removed.  Once he's recovered and everything in his body has stabilized and re-balanced itself, hopefully he will no longer have to be on medication, and won't be painfully constipated anymore.

Of course, dropping my kitty off for surgery means I'm going to be a nervous weepy wreck all day.  But I just got off the phone with the surgeon who was very reassuring, and said he felt we were making the right proactive move to keep Benjamin healthy and avoid further problems as he gets older.  So I will do my best to hold it together and not get too emotional about it.

ETA: My neighbor left her cat outside when she went to work, and now kitty is meowing pitifully at the back door wanting to be let in, but no one is home to let her in. :( This is so not what I need to listen to today. ;_;
