Aparoid war in all its terror and in all its excitement [text/codec/audio]

[For the beginning of this recording is nothing but silence, maybe for a whole 3 or 4 minutes.]
It's been two weeks.
[She goes quiet again, as if she's listening to something faint. Barely audible in the background are the sounds of war; faint explosions, gun fire, Pokemon battle cries as appropriate to their series game over sound effects/jingles.]
Two weeks since these shape-shifting aparoid monsters have invaded. Two weeks of living inside this force-field dome. Two weeks of watching students and teachers fighting for their lives and defending this school. Two weeks of watching them grow dirty, and tired, and weak.
Two weeks of war-of death and destruction ...and I've never felt so alive.
...Does that make me as much of a monster as these aparoids?
They remind me of the X... only there's so many. I want this stupid war to be over with. I can't stand seeing everyone so miserable and hurt. I want to protect everyone but I can't be everywhere at once.
[Samus goes silent again, listening to more sounds of battle in the distance.]
I'm surprised I haven't run into a version of me yet. That'd be hell and a half to deal with, even if the aparoids are weaker. Now I'll jinx myself, just watch. Or maybe I'm just looking forward to it since I missed my chance at that Ridley last week. Hn.

How are all of you holding up so far?
I discovered something interesting while I was making rounds with the gunship near the dome's borders... Little cracks. Weak spots in the field. Some were big enough for me to squeeze through. My ship couldn't make it any bigger, but I'm hypothesizing it has to do with the overall strength of these aparoids. Since they seem to work like a collective hive mind and we've been steadily hacking away at their numbers, then we must be doing something right...
If any of you want me to fly you out there and take a look for yourself just give me a heads up.
