Aaaand I'm back from family time/vacation. I wouldn't officially call it a vacation, seeing that I spent the majority of it stressed out, but I did take off work Friday.
My great uncle is turning 100 tomorrow. His daughters held a party this weekend, which Mom and I went to go help with. It was great and fun, when a certain aunt that I've spoken about on this blog before wasn't around. I was civil, but I would have liked it better if she hadn't come around. The uncle that I don't claim was there as well, but he and his wife didn't stay long. I don't know how Mom was able to stay as put together as she did. She has a lot more grace than I do. I just hung outside with Dad most of the time.
My mom's car has died. I'm thinking it's either the alternator or the starter, but it's still in Rockport. We hitched a ride back to town with Dad, which proves that it's good to show up to functions in different vehicles. I stayed the rest of the weekend at Mom's house and dropped her off at work this morning. She wound up getting a rental for the rest of the week and someone is going to be towing her car to the repair shop tomorrow.
I would say that it's good to be home, but I don't think the AC is working right. I got home a little after seven tonight and the thermostat said it was 80. I messed with the switches and it still says it's 80, even though there's cool air coming out of the vents. There's not a lot of cool air coming out, so if it doesn't fix itself by morning, I'm going to give the landlady a call tomorrow.
At least the ceiling fans work.
