rescuing kitties(4) & personal exhaustion...

We have a new foster stray as of Sunday night. We were at a friend's house -same one- when the guys saw a kitten on the lawn. Brown tabby like baby Alex/Alley. We followed it into the dark alley, into yards, and over broken glass, but it disappeared. Another one appeared that is white and grey with tabby spotted areas. My friend caught her and we gave her tuna which she ate like she'd never seen food before in her life. She's very friendly and about a few months old, with orange/yellow eyes. I've given her 2 flea baths and the addition of actual food to her diet is making her temporarily sick. We found a shelter that can take her this week and she'll hopefully go on to a happy new home off the streets.
As if that wasn't enough going on, our same friend called yesterday after his 7 year old daughter stole a box of baby kittens from her uncle. They're so young that their eyes are closed. They look like tiny fierce little tigers. I sent an hour or two calling for information and everyone just sent me in circles until someone found a nursing mother cat nearby. So we had the kittens dropped off in a shoebox, all freezing and hungry, took them to the house with the female cat and her litter of kittens, and after a few minutes of growling, she accepted them and fed them. We were SO relieved. And I felt horrible for wrecking my boyfriend's one day this week off. >_< But as of this morning she went back to her kittens and they'll have to be bottle fed. @_@
Photos will follow as soon as I'm feeling better; i woke up sick this morning...
