last weekend was a blur
we hurried around
and cleaned
and hid debrie in the bedroom
behind a closed door
we cooked all week
for one little day
and everyone i wanted showed up
no wait. they didnt
people were missing
very distint, very family like people
and it was painful to think about that
but others were
here
others, a sister and a brother
it seems to make sence that, they should come in pairs
Alissa and Nathanial
Coni and Lawarence
Iris and Rob
we spent the night
in our trashed little half house
in our cozy, and wooden, plaster, painted half house
with a million things that we never bought.
the food, the couchs, the chairs, a table, toys, and cloths and more.
things other people paid for
and this amazed me
as i thought
about what to pray for
thanksgiving day
the people.
so to you, to all of you i bow. thankyou. wouldnt be here, or anywhere without you.
there was no cake. lots of pie, icecream, turkey sandwitches. soup and bread, and stuffing, ham, and too many casseroles to count, yams, cranberry sause, potatoes and more.
there was a birthday, and a little pointed hat. gifts, of pink, and cards stuffed with money. but still, there were people missing. people to thank, for this year
and there was crocuses. for a few glorious moments we shared the planting of lives. the beginning of beauty, the first flower we can share together in a new home. a hope, for the end of winter, for rebirth.
and church was incredible. memerable, meaningful, and unbelievably important. amen
