Was having some discussion the other day with colleagues and we came up with a factual that is so amazingly true. Do you ever noticed that Hong Kong people (or Hong Kongners or Hongkies) actually speak english with a slight slang?
One of my directors so rightly pointed out that they always end their sentence 1 key lower. For example "Ngor tei cho Internet (Security) <--- this last word will be 1 key lower" Try saying it and you get what I mean.
We all burst out laughing in the meeting room... haha. How true.
On the same note, I guess I have to start brushing up my cantonese (by watching more Wah Lai Toi?) as I will be speaking to my HK clients. But no matter how well your cantonese is, they will know that you're not from Hong Kong.
I am all set for my trip this sunday...wish me luck...
Hmm.. should I tell the HK immigration officer that "I no speakie Hongkie..." when I arrive? :)
