Merdeka.
Merdeka, a word associated with our country's independence. Somehow it does not feel like it, somehow the celebrations everwhere is just a facet to showcase to the world that we still got it.
I for one has lost confidence in that word.. yes the word Merdeka. As I was walking around the shopping centres with dear earlier, the sense of or rather the spirit of the day just isn't there. People aren't flying flags on their cars or shops like in previous years. Sad really. Back then you could hear patriotic songs blaring out from speakers left right and centre but this year ... MUTE.
Me, a young and coming Malaysian, hopes that with this 50th celebrations, it will mark a new beginning for us, for my generation and the next to look forward to. As I have mentioned, our PM and the Government must give me a reason to vote for them in the next election. Time is short yes but there is still chance for them to change this voter's decision.
