Miss_Izzles wrote a very lovely but sad story for this challenge I thought I try to write something with a happy ending. When it comes to sparky stories, this is a first for me. *lol*
I guess
Miss_Izzles is to blame for this. She distracted me with her story so the plot bunnies could sneak up behind my back.
Thanks to my awesome beta reader
johnliz4ever for taking time on christmas to check my story.
Two kinds of tears

She closed her eyes and leaned against the wall. This could not be right. There must be a mistake. Probably she did something wrong. Elizabeth slid to the ground. Her hands were closed tightly around the white little plastic thingy. She drew up her knees to her body and let her head sink against them. Her arm's wrapped around them she started to cry.

A cup of coffee in his hand, John was on his way to her office.
“Dr. Weir isn’t there, Colonel.” The gate technician said.
John frowned. “Okay, thanks.”
He turned around and activated his radio when he left the gate room.
“Sheppard to Weir.” But Elizabeth did not answer.
Since it was on his way he decided to stop at Rodney’s lab to see if she was there. “Hey Rodney, have you seen Elizabeth?”
Slightly irritated the scientist turned towards him. “No I haven’t. But if you find her, tell her I need to talk to her. I would do so myself but since she isn’t answering my calls...” John put the cup of coffee on Rodney’s desk and hurried out of the lab.
On his way to her quarters he tried to radio her again. The result was the same as before. When he reached her door he knocked. “Liz, are you there?”
By now he was really worried. It wasn’t like her not to answer her radio and she wouldn't risk that other’s could not reach her for too long since she was basically always on duty.
When she did not open the door, John willed it open and entered.
“Liz?” he asked again. But she wasn’t there. He was about to leave when he heard sobs coming from the bathroom. In a second he was at the door and opened it. What he saw worried him. She sat on the ground, her head resting on her knees while she sobbed hard.
John knelt down in front of her and stroked her head.
“Liz, what’s wrong?”
When she looked at him, her eyes where wide. She had not noticed his presence before.
John raised a hand and brushed away the tears from her cheek.
“Whatever it is, it’s gonna be okay.” This just made her cry harder.
“No it won’t. Just leave me alone, John.”
But he didn’t think about leaving her alone like this. “No, I’m not leaving you like this.” He pulled her towards him so that she lay in his arms, her head resting on his shoulder. He closed his arms around her and stroked her back.
“Please John, just leave me.” She forced out between sobs. “Why won’t you tell me what’s wrong?” His voice sounded sad. He had once promised her always to be there for her and he intended to keep that promise. But he could not deny that it hurt him that she didn’t want to tell him what was wrong. After all they had been through he thought she trusted him completely.
As he reached for her left hand, which she pressed towards the underside of her thigh, she suddenly started to move out of his arms. “No, don’t!” She stared at him with fear, tears rolling down her cheeks as she hid whatever she held in her hand behind her back.
A look of hurt crossed his face and Elizabeth had to close her eyes because she could not stand to see him like this. But she just wasn’t ready to tell him yet. She didn’t even know what to think herself and she was sure that he would be shocked as well.
John shifted so he knelt across from her. He did not know what to do with his hands. He reached for her but stopped on half way. He wanted to touch her but wasn’t sure this was the right thing to do. So he just pulled his hand back and put both of them on his thighs.
“Please, Liz. Whatever it is we’re going to make it through it. I’m here for you I’ll always be. Just please, please tell me what’s wrong.”
He looked so desperate that she could not bring herself to ignore his pleas. Slowly she pulled her hand from behind her back and held the white plastic thingy out to him. It took a while until he realised what it was. His fingers where shaking when he took it out of her hand. The result of her pregnancy test was positive.
As she had expected John looked shocked. He stared at the result, his eyes wide, and swallowed hard. Elizabeth closed her eyes as tears started to run down her cheeks again. She tried not to make a sound but failed as a sob escaped her tightly pressed lips.
John’s head shot up as he heard she was crying again.
Shit, he probably didn’t react how he should have. He put the pregnancy test down and moved towards her. He took her in his arms, stroked her back and murmured calming words until she stopped crying.
“I understand if you don’t want to... I’d understand, John.”
Her words shocked him. Was this why she was crying? Because she thought he wouldn’t want this child? He carefully pushed her away from him, making her face him as he locked his eyes with hers.
“How can you think that, Liz? I love you and although I have to admit it’s a little unexpected, I’m happy. I don’t think there’s a woman besides you which I’d want to be the mother of my child.” He was rewarded with a bright smile before she threw herself into his arms, knocking him over in the process. Both where laughing while they held each other.
“Liz?...Hm...Will you marry me?”
He could feel her freeze and than he felt something wet on his cheek. Rolling over and supporting himself on his elbows he saw that she was crying again.
She could see he was shocked.
“I’m sorry. ... We ... We don’t have to...” he stuttered. She reached for his cheek and stroked it. She was smiling while she cried.
“Yes, John, I will.” Relieved he leaned in to kiss her.
“So you’re just crying cause you’re happy then?” Still smiling she let her hand run through his hair.
“Yes, I am. And I’d be even happier if you’d kiss me again.” Smiling he moved closer. He’d fulfil her every wish.
